Saturday Morning Early Risers Wellness Walk: First aid and outdoor survival workshop at Hardwick Park, Stockton-on-Tees.
We are pleased to announce a return of our First Aid and Outdoor Survival for Walkers event on the 26th of October In partnership with the British Red Cross, this session will provide essential training for anyone who loves outdoor activities.
Gathering at our usual meeting point at Hardwick Park, Stockton-on-Tees, we will commence the event at 10:00 am. During this session, a certified instructor from the British Red Cross will educate us on key aspects of first aid and survival skills tailored for walkers.
Given the chilly October climate, it is advised to dress warmly and adequately to keep comfortable throughout the event.
If you have questions or require additional information, we are always available to assist. Your participation contributes to our mission of providing enriching and empowering experiences.

Join us for an early morning walk at Lordstones Country Park on Saturday 12th October. This is a 4.5-km circular trail near Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 24 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so we will ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a lead. All you need is your drinking water, your walking boots/shoes, and appropriate clothing.

Join the Grand Riser for a rejuvenating early morning walk at Great Aycliffe Nature Reserve on Saturday, 7th September. This 5-km loop trail, located near Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, is generally considered an easy route, taking about 1 h 30 min to complete. Popular for wildlife watching, leisurely walks, and photography, you might also meet other nature enthusiasts along the way. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
Free Parking Available
The walk commences at 8:00 am. After our walk, we will have a special meet and greet session hosted by Careyard UK, where you can learn more about their services and community initiatives.

Saturday Early Risers Wellness Walk at Bassleton Woods Stockton on Tees
Join us for an early morning walk at Bassleton Woods, Stockton-on-Tees on Saturday 7th September. Bassleton Woods is a six-hectare pocket of ancient deciduous woodland sandwiched between the Bassleton Court housing estate of Thornaby and the River Tees. The Holmes area of the nature reserve comprises 6.8-hectares of low-lying ex-agricultural land in a meander known to Thornaby residents as Horseshoe Bend. Bassleton Woods and the Holmes form part of a much larger area of special countryside that is open to the public. The Council's Countryside service has planted adjacent fields with approximately 14,000 trees in order to link Bassleton Woods to the nearby Thornaby Woods, which is also open to the public.

Parking will be in the Bassleton Court Shops car park, adjacent to The Griffin pub in Thornaby. At the "spitfire roundabout" on the A1045 in Thornaby, turn west on to Bader Avenue.
